How does selfie clock-in work?
Employees can create attendance records by taking a selfie in the ROTA mobile app when clocking in or out. At the same time, GPS verifies the relevant branch or work area, while managers can view the time, location, and selfie together in the admin panel. Selfies are captured only during clock-in and clock-out; there is no continuous background tracking.
What is the difference between a mobile time clock and card or fingerprint systems?
A mobile time clock does not require card readers, fingerprint devices, or fixed terminals for employee attendance tracking. Because employees can clock in and out through the mobile app, it is more flexible for multi-location businesses and field teams. GPS and the selfie record let managers visually review each clock-in, helping them spot inaccurate records such as card sharing or clocking in on someone else's behalf.

How is clock-in verified?
Location and time-window rules are recorded as you configure them, and a required selfie is captured at every clock-in and clock-out.
Can I change the location rule?
Yes. In strict mode clock-in only opens near the defined location; in flexible mode an outside clock-in is flagged to the manager; field teams can clock in from anywhere.
Is overtime calculated automatically?
Time worked is totalled automatically from clock-in records and sits next to rostered hours on the timesheet. ROTA does not calculate statutory overtime or run payroll; you export the timesheet as CSV for your accountant.
Is selfie clock-in compliant with KVKK?
Selfie photos captured for attendance verification are standard visual evidence; no identity verification or biometric matching is performed. For this data, the employer is the data controller and ROTA is the data processor.
How long are selfies stored?
The employer, as the data controller, determines the retention period for employee workforce data. ROTA stores this data as a data processor in accordance with the employer's instructions and applicable retention obligations; it is permanently deleted at the end of the relevant period.
Can attendance be tracked without a physical time clock device?
Yes. With ROTA, employees can clock in and out through the mobile app without installing a physical time clock device. Attendance records are built from the location rules defined by the employer and the selfie required at every clock-in and clock-out, then monitored from the admin panel.
