Frequently asked questions about switching
Can I import my existing Excel file?
Business owners can add their staff in bulk with a CSV or Excel (XLSX) file. After valid records are created, invitations are sent as a separate step. Importing existing shift schedules from Excel is not supported. You can keep your Excel file as a reference during the switch.
Do I have to drop WhatsApp entirely?
No. Rota moves shift announcements, reminders and request updates to automatic notifications; you can keep using WhatsApp for team chat however you like. The goal is to take critical operational information out of the chat noise.
Does it calculate overtime too?
Rota automatically computes worked and payable minutes and exports the timesheet as CSV. Overtime (averaging or settlement) calculation is not part of the product today; you continue to handle that on the accounting side.
